Women's Sports Advocates of Wisconsin, Inc. (WSAW, Inc),1980-2009
WSAW, Inc was founded in November of 1980 and
ended
operation in November 2009. Thanks for a great 30 years!
For 30 years, WSAW served to increase community awareness,
acceptance and appreciation of the value of women and girls in
sports, and encouraged, supported and recognized Wisconsin girls
and women who participate in sports.

Award of Excellence
Honor Roll From 1991 to 2009, WSAW invited
Wisconsin's public and private high schools to select one
senior female high school scholar athlete to receive the
Award of Excellence. Recipients had to have a minimum of a
3.0 GPA and had lettered in at least one varsity sport. The
program ended in 2009.

Lifetime Achievement
Hall of Fame
The WSAW Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to an individual, female or male, who has contributed in an outstanding way to Wisconsin girls' and women's sports.
These individuals were nominated by the public and voted
upon by a statewide committee composed of experienced sports
media and athletic administrators. Lifetime recipients
received specially designed awards including a trophy and
14k karat gold diamond award ring.
2009 was the last year that WSAW sponsored this program.

WSAW Scholarship Honor
Roll
WSAW awarded nearly $40,000 in scholarships to
Award of Excellence recipients from 2001-2009. Funds for
these scholarships were raised from private and corporate
donations. 2009 was the last year of this program. |
